At Currency Creek on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, Merilli1885 brings together a beautifully restored heritage cottage and the quiet of a 90-acre working farm. Original stonework, ancient gums and open paddocks create a setting for the moments you will want to remember.
Whether you are dreaming of an intimate ceremony here, preparing for a wedding nearby or finding somewhere special for the wedding night, there is space to make the occasion your own.
Small weddings. Time to savour
We are creating elopement and daytime micro wedding experiences shaped around you. A quiet ceremony for two, or a gathering with your closest people, followed by beautiful food and time together.
Our proposed celebrations welcome the couple and up to 15 invited guests, with a two-night cottage stay at the heart of the experience.
Arrive before the day begins. Settle into your surroundings. Stay after your guests have gone, with time to enjoy the morning after.
I’ll work with you to bring together the details, from a celebrant and photographer to chef-prepared food, with flowers and styling chosen to suit your wishes.

Before the Wedding
The anticipation. The dress hanging ready. A quiet coffee before everyone arrives.
Merilli1885 offers a private place to prepare for your wedding, with welcoming living spaces, natural light and room to pause between the preparations.
Stay with your partner or a few of the people closest to you. Share dinner the evening before, wake to breakfast provisions and take your time getting ready.
Hair and makeup appointments, photography and additional daytime visitors can be arranged in advance, so the morning unfolds comfortably.
For the people closest to you
Parents of the bride or groom. A brother and sister travelling with their partners. Family coming together from further afield.
The cottage offers a thoughtful base for a wedding on the Fleurieu Peninsula, with two king suites, each with its own private bathroom, and shared spaces for the time in between.
Have breakfast together. Sit on the verandah before leaving for the celebration. Return to somewhere peaceful at the end of the day.
Merilli1885 accommodates up to four adults across two king beds, with exclusive use of the cottage, its living spaces and guest outdoor areas.
The Wedding Night
When the celebrations draw to a close, come back to quiet.
Soft linen. A comfortable king bed. The stillness of the farm around you.
In the cooler months, settle beside the fire. On a mild evening, spend a little time on the verandah before turning in.
With a two-night stay, you can arrive the day before your wedding or stay on afterwards. Give yourselves a morning that belongs only to you.
Stay a little longer
There is no need to fit everything into one day.
A leisurely breakfast. A walk on the beach. Lunch at a nearby winery, or an afternoon spent doing very little.
Currency Creek places you within easy reach of Goolwa, Middleton and Port Elliot, with McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek also within reach for exploring or attending a wedding.
